If you are new to ENGAGE, or if you just haven’t been here since the end of last semester, you may have noticed that you do not know me. Though part of the allure of blogging can be anonymity, I don’t want to be the mysterious person behind the curtain. I want you to know who I am so that if you have any questions related to civic engagement at Wesleyan, you will know my name and face! So here it goes:

My name is Jelisa Adair and I am Wesleyan’s Civic Engagement Fellow for 2013-2014. I graduated in May with a degree in Psychology and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I have been involved with the Center for Community Partnerships since my sophomore year and found it to be an exciting and enriching experience, so much so that I decided to stay at Wes another year to continue working towards civic engagement at Wesleyan. My own personal interests are in civic engagement and mental health and women’s issues, however through this internship I hope to become more knowledgeable about the intersectionality of civic engagement!

My office is located in Allbritton 307 and don’t ever hesitate to drop in to say hi!

Jelisa Adair

I am the Civic Engagement Fellow for 2013-2014. While a student at Wesleyan I double majored in Psychology and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and completed a joint thesis during my senior year. I am interested in issues of social justice, mental health, media, and global welfare.
