Green Street Front Desk – Student Assistance Needed for Spring 2014

We are looking for several students who could cover our front desk this spring. Mondays – Thursdays would be from 4:30 to about 8:00pm and Fridays would be from 4:30 – 6:00pm. There may also be special evening or weekend events where we would need coverage. This would be a great job for a work study student and could also be a paid position.

We are looking for people who are personable, professional, and organized. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, of Outlook encouraged. Students would have to get to and from Green Street, there is sometimes a Wesleyan Van available during the week during our AfterSchool Program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting visitors
  • Answering the phone, forwarding calls, taking messages
  • Monitoring general email
  • Assisting with AfterSchool Program dismissal and parents
  • Checking in private lesson/class/workshop students and instructors
  • Event set up and clean up in arts café/kitchen

I am the Civic Engagement Fellow for 2013-2014. While a student at Wesleyan I double majored in Psychology and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and completed a joint thesis during my senior year. I am interested in issues of social justice, mental health, media, and global welfare.
