Women, Wealth & Impact:
Investing with a Gender Lens

Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 1-2 pm ET

Increasingly individuals, families and foundations are exploring how to use their consumer dollars, philanthropy and now their investment portfolios to address gender inequality.

Join us for a lively conversation and webinar that will outline several easy steps to shift your investments to support & empower women.

Our program will start with Joy Anderson, President and Founder of Criterion Institute and Women Effect Investments – an initiative to build the field of Gender Lens Investing and Patricia Farrar-Rivas, CEO and Founding Partner at Veris Wealth Partners. Joy will interview Patricia to explore the webinar’s big take-away – moving beyond ‘why’ and into the ‘how’ of investing to support women.

This will be followed by a short presentation and Q&A led by Luisamarie Ruiz Carlile and Alison Pyott, both Certified Financial Planners and Wealth Managers at Veris Wealth Partners based on their recently published thought piece Women, Wealth and Impact: Investing with a Gender Lens. This paper explores the business case for gender lens investing, but more importantly provides tangible steps you can take to increase gender equality with your investment portfolio.

Criterion Institute’s mission is to shape market systems for social good, by inspiring others to believe they have the power to change the rules of the game. Criterion’s work challenges our imaginations of how the world could work – how economic systems could function to better benefit the people they are meant to serve.

We believe innovation happens at intersections, so we aim to create the possibility for new linkages and new connections across a diverse portfolio of projects. Whether it’s intersecting finance and the church, or pushing investments to value gender, we study and encourage the practices and relationships that affect complex systems change. Our 10-year track record in leading innovative initiatives positions us as a leader in this conversation about shaping markets.
