JCCP End of Year Open House celebrates community collaboration

On May 7th, over 80 people visited the Jewett Center for Community Partnerships for its End of Year Open House. Visitors included Wesleyan faculty and staff, and students, as well as community partners from the greater Middletown community, Hartford, New Haven, and even New Jersey! The event included a reception and short presentations from the JCCP’s flagship programs, and the Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship. The event provided guests an opportunity to learn about our programming, while also providing space for folks to cultivate new connections with like-minded people.

Clifton Watson, Director of the JCCP, starts off the event with opening remarks – introducing JCCP’s flagship programs – the Office of Community Service, WESU, and the Center for Prison Education.

Patricelli Center students give one-minute pitches on their social impact projects and ventures. Left to right: Julia Adler ’20, Sydney Ochieng ’22, Shayna Beaumont ’19, Aaron Stryker ’19, and Luke Lezhanskyy ’20

Dillon Noone ’20 talks about WESU’s 80-year history in which the Middletown community has always been an integral part of the radio station.

Laura McCargar, JCCP’s inaugural Mentor-in-Residence, is the President of the Perrin Family Foundation.
