GreenStreetPIMMSLogo_0The Green Street Teaching and Learning Center (formerly the Arts Center) of Wesleyan is best known for its Discovery AfterSchool Program. Each semester around 60 elementary school kids grace our space with their artwork and dance performances while 50 + Wesleyan students act as teaching assistants, homework tutors, and instructors. Discovery AfterSchool provides a hands-on experience for students interested in education. Our work also includes a Girls in Science Camp taught by Wesleyan faculty and students, and a K-8 Math Institute for teachers with an intensive math class co-led by Wesleyan Mathematicians.

Come learn about our 10 year history of connecting campus to the community, how our programs benefit Wesleyan students interested in education, and our future aspirations connecting art, math, and science.
Presenter: Sara MacSorley is the Director of the Green Street Teaching and Learning Center. In her three years at Wesleyan, she has spearheaded the K-8 Math Institute and Girls in Science Camp at Green Street. She has a B.S. In Marine Biology and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island.
