CCP Anniversary Series: Partner Spotlight on Green Street Arts Center and PIMMS

greenIf you spend most of your time close to campus, it’s possible that you could spend four years at Wesleyan and never even glimpse the Green Street Arts Center building. However, you would be missing out on a lot if you never made it there during your Wesleyan experience. Located at 51 Green Street in the North End, Green Street Arts Center opened in 2005. Originally conceived as a community arts center, seven years after its opening, Green Street partnered with the Project to Increase Mathematics and Science. The center is now focused on creating a space to bring art, science, and science to the community.

Green Street Arts Center and PIMMS offers a variety of programs for community members. From an afterschool programs which offers classes in movement, language, and art to professional development, Green Street provides a multitude of ways to get involved. For Wesleyan students, this could lead to you teaching a class or giving private lessons to students, or taking part in one of the development events Green Street organizes.

So make it your goal to make Green Street a part of your Wesleyan experience! You never know what you may learn there…
