NOI Climate Leadership Fellowship

plainlogoInterested in environmental organizing? Want to be in D.C. for three months for a paid fellowship position? If so, the New Organizing Institute’s (NOI) Climate Leadership Fellowship may be for you! From NOI’s website:

NOI’s Climate Leadership Fellowship is designed to give new and emerging climate leaders the opportunity to support the organizing work of a local or national organization working on climate change issues.

The Climate Leadership Fellows will:

  • Have an opportunity to acquire and refine the proven skills of engagement organizing while working with a national, state or local organization tackling climate change issues.
  • Receive experiential knowledge of how to organize in the climate movement by contributing to the mission an organization on a meaningful, pre-determined campaign. These campaigns could include grassroots community organizing, issue, or electoral organizing.
  • Fellows will be equipped with core organizing skills they can apply in their next job or take back to their community to effect change on climate issues.
  • Become part of a cohort of emerging network of new climate leaders, the NOI Climate Leadership Fellows. We hope that Fellows will use this experience to more deeply engage in the climate movement after their term whether as a full-time staffer or a volunteer leader.

NOI is hiring Climate Leadership Fellows for the winter term, starting on January 6th and lasting through March 28th. The deadline for the first class of fellows will be November 15th. Applications for the spring term will open in early 2014.
