The Social Entrepreneurship Corps

socentcorpsIn browsing the Ashoka U newsletter, we came across some fantastic opportunities for students, including the Social Entrepreneurship Corps. While this program is fee-based, remember that the PCSE offers grant opportunities to subsidize such opportunities. Check out the Patricelli Enrichment Grant and the Wesleyan Summer Experience Grant‘ to help finance what may prove to be a transformative experience.

Social Entrepreneur Corps is a social enterprise that leads innovative and dynamic international internship programs in Guatemala, Ecuador,Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Social Entrepreneur Corps participants work with our sister organization Community Enterprise Solutionsin the field supporting the creation, development, growth and impact of social innovations focused on intelligently and sustainably alleviating poverty. Social Entrepreneur Corps participants create sustainable impact in the field while gaining the perspectives, skills and knowledge to become the social entrepreneurs of the future.

Our mission is to provide you with the knowledge, experience, skills and ongoing support necessary to work to empower marginalized individuals, families and communities in Guatemala,Ecuador,  Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic to improve their standards of living.

I am the Civic Engagement Fellow for 2013-2014. While a student at Wesleyan I double majored in Psychology and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and completed a joint thesis during my senior year. I am interested in issues of social justice, mental health, media, and global welfare.
