Essmart Description
Essmart bridges the distribution gap in the global supply chain by creating a marketplace for life-improving, essential technologies in local retail shops. We source a wide range of essential, life-improving goods, such as solar lighting solutions, water filters, and efficient cook stoves. We then demonstrate this catalogue of technologies in communities, distribute to local retail shops, and facilitate manufacturers’ warranties. We started operations in Tamil Nadu, India, and we invite you to join us as we deliver the goods.

The Design and Communications Intern will help us market Essmart to both our customers (rural end users and shops in India) and to our funders and supporters (generally US-based Internet users). You will work with our COO and Indian Director to design rural marketing materials such as catalogues, fliers, and banners. You will also work with our CEO and COO to re-design Essmart’s website (using the WordPress platform), update our Facebook page and Twitter accounts with new stories and photos from the field, and manage our mailing list and general engagement with a worldwide audience.
