Teachers for Vietnam: TFV is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the teaching of English in Vietnamese colleges and universities. Teachers for Vietnam brings teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) into classrooms which otherwise would not be exposed to native speakers. Teachers for Vietnam thus enriches the educational and pre-professional development of Vietnamese students. An important component of our mission is promoting greater contact, understanding, and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and the United States. American teachers at Vietnamese universities accomplish these goals in a direct, personal way and have a lasting impact on their students. PULSE (Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience): PULSE (Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience) cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. We invite talented university graduates to partner with nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. PULSE participants (PULSErs) work in a Pittsburgh non-profit, live with other participants in intentional community and participate in ongoing training and development.
