Each year, Oxfam America chooses 50 undergraduates from around the country to be part of our national leadership program, CHANGE. These incredible students gain the tools and skills they need to become leaders and to right the wrongs of hunger, poverty, and injustice. And now’s your chance to become one of them!

Selected students commit to a year-long program, attend a week-long training in Boston, and start a club and lead an Oxfam campaign on their campus, supported by our staff.

As a CHANGE leader, you’ll:

  • Receive leadership and advocacy training focused toward creating social change locally and globally;
  • Have access to expert skills based training, resources, materials and year-round support from Oxfam staff;
  • Explore policy issues related to the global food system using a rights-based approach;
  • Establish connections and share knowledge with college students from the US and beyond!

We’re looking for students with ideas, energy, connections, and dedication to social justice around the world. You’ll gain hands-on experience with advocacy and organizing, along with practical leadership skills that will serve you in future pursuits.

As a CHANGE Leader, you’ll meet and organize alongside like-minded college students and become a part of a global network of people who make a real difference for their communities and for the world. I am the Civic Engagement Fellow for 2013-2014. While a student at Wesleyan I double majored in Psychology and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and completed a joint thesis during my senior year. I am interested in issues of social justice, mental health, media, and global welfare.
