Conference on Child Rights & Sight

Wesleyan is collaborating with Distressed Children and Infants International (DCI) as a promotional partner for the InternDCI-Logo-Transparentational Conference on Child Rights & Sight. DCI holds its International Conference on Child Rights & Sight to raise awareness on child rights, including child labor and diseases that affect vision. The event gathers world-class speakers and leaders to address these pressing issues and discuss creative solutions.

The conference will take place on Saturday, October 24th from 8:00am-7:00pm. Lunch, from 12:00pm-1:00pm, will be available for a small fee. Light refreshments will be available during the networking reception from 5:30pm-7:00pm, and are included in the registration fee. The conference is hosted at the Yale University School of Medicine:

Students interested in learning about poverty-related health issues should attend this conference to join a network of hundreds of others interested in protecting children’s rights and preventing blindness. You can read about the confirmed speakers for this event here

Interested students and faculty can register to attend here. Student tickets are available for $10, and faculty tickets are $30.

Jennifer Roach is the Civic Engagement Fellow in Allbritton for the academic year 2015-2016. She is a recent Wesleyan alumni, class of 2014. Since graduating, she has moved to Hartford to continue developing Summer of Solutions Hartford, an urban farming internship program she worked on during her time at Wesleyan.
