Many Wesleyan students work as volunteers with Middletown youth throughout their time as undergrads. Recently, Wesleyan’s Office of Community Service facilitated their Youth Engagement Training, supplying Wesleyan student volunteers with the tools they need in order to be effective and helpful tutors. During this training, held in Exley Science Center, students listened to a keynote speaker, Izzi Greenberg, Director of Middlesex Coalition for Children, and participated in group workshops, gaining a better understanding of the community they aim to serve as well as developing efficient strategies for their important roles as tutors and mentors!
