Literacy Ambassadors wanted for MPS Bridge to Brilliance program

WANTED:  Literacy Ambassadors!

 

The Middletown Public Schools PreK community is looking for dedicated volunteers to support our efforts in spreading the word and helping families utilize our new digital, FREE comprehensive literacy program.  These apps are one way to better prepare 3 & 4 year old children for Kindergarten and this program will help families develop skills to support their child’s learning.  Please join us in this positive, innovative movement to help children and families reach their goals & improve the trajectory of their lives in school!

 

WHO:  College Students interested in working with children and families. Community members, parents, ANYONE  interested in working with children and families.  Students in need of an internship, community service hours or just looking for an opportunity to engage in a new initiative in the Middletown community. 

 

SKILLS:   Ambassadors must be comfortable interacting with the public and assisting adults and children with technology including tablets and phones.  

 

WHEN:  Flexible scheduling. Attending 1 ½ hr  training is expected. Ambassadors are asked to sign up for different community events where children and families will be.  Many events are within walkable distance from downtown Middletown/Wesleyan.
