Fall 2025 Highlights

On December 5th, The Allbritton Center’s Stephan Sonnenberg (Director of Human Rights Advocacy Minor) and Wesleyan University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Nicole Stanton presented at a side event of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

Hosted by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea in Geneva and produced in collaboration with the Seoul National University AI Policy Initiative and the Universal Rights Group in Geneva, this annual paper series, which is now in its fourth year, highlights efforts to develop a human rights-based framework for the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other new and emerging digital technologies. Sonnenberg and Stanton discussed the potential for academia to play a central role in efforts to align increasingly capable AI technologies with basic human rights and well-being. The full paper series is available here.
