Fall 2025 Highlight Series
We celebrated another successful semester of the Education Workshop Series! Designed to support Wesleyan students working with local youth across a variety of settings, including afterschool enrichment programs and tutoring initiatives, this semester’s series featured workshops such as “Planning for Learner Variability,” “Classroom Management,” and “Creating Effective Curriculum,” and many others.
The workshops were facilitated by Briana Bellinger-Dawson, Professor Rachel Besharat Mann, and Professor Gravity Goldberg, who happily shared their expertise and professional experiences with students. These workshops – we hope – helped cultivate a supportive learning space that equips a growing community of enthusiastic Wesleyan students with practical, critical skills for engaging local youth while learning with a supportive cohort of students, staff, and faculty.
Bellinger-Dawson says:
“The workshop series was designed to provide additional support to students engaging in education and youth development work. Many of our students in tutoring capacities take advantage of these workshop opportunities as well as office hours to discuss further pathways of connecting to k-12 learners.”
We look forward to building on this momentum in future semesters and continuing to support students as they learn, lead, and make a meaningful impact in the community. Stay engaged for more upcoming news in the series!
