Set in the Pacific Northwest in 1875, this Western stars Marilyn Monroe as Kay, a saloon singer who has been caring for a young boy, Mark. Mark?s father, the rough Matt Calder (played by Robert Mitchum) comes to fetch him. A wild adventures ensues. Introduction by Mark Longnecker. More info

indra7:00p Indra Trio Performs Danish Jazz and New York Soul at Russell Library
Indra, an accomplished, adventurous jazz trio from Copenhagen, Denmark, will perform on Thursday, August 1 at 7pm in the Hubbard Room at Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown. The concert will feature the riveting vocals of New York City native Indra Rios-Moore. Saxophone and bass round out the trio’s masterful arrangements of American jazz standards, covers of pop, folk, and R & B songs, Cuban and Mexican songs, and newly composed pieces.

gallerywalk5:00 Middletown Gallery Walk
Take a leisurely stroll downtown on Friday evening to view the latest art exhibitions. Conveniently located within a 3 block area along the main thoroughfares of the City, you can speak with the gallery owners, the artists, visit bars and restaurants offering specials to gallery walkers, and check out kindred shops offering unusual items of interest.

4:00-6:00p Shaped Note Singers Meet
What: Shaped Note Singing, mostly from The Sacred Harp (but not entirely)
Where: the home of Neely Bruce, 440 Chamberlain Drive
When: Sunday August 4, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m
Remember to bring a dish to share as a potluck follows the singing.
