The Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship (PCSE) is pleased to announce the first Digital Wesleyan Startup 101 workshop series, a free six-session course held on campus Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting February 15. The curriculum includes:
- Introduction to computer science and application design: It’s not actually that hard to build an app. We’ll show you how.
- Introduction to alumni in the industry: Investors, entrepreneurs, executives will come to campus and tell you their story. This is a world where mentors matter, and the Wesleyan network gives you a huge step up.
- Introduction to startup thinking: How should you design a business that can support the product you want to build?
The course is presented by the Digital Wesleyan alumni network with support from the PCSE, Career Center, and WesHack. It will feature coding teachers from the Flatiron School and General Assembly in NYC, as well as speakers from prominent New York-based startups and early stage investment firms. All students who participate in the workshop series will be considered for ten Digital Wesleyan Internships in New York and San Francisco during summer 2014.
