We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help us orchestrate the seventh annual Minds in Motion Middletown program on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Wilbert Snow Elementary School in Middletown from 12:00-4:00 pm.
Minds in Motion (MIM) is an afternoon of fun, fast-paced, hands-on workshops for 200 curious and motivated students from kindergarten through grade eight. Workshops in prior years have included robotics, DNA, math, karate, juggling, theater, music, visual arts, yoga, and more. We are grateful that the Wesleyan community has been very supportive of our program over the years. This year, we are excited to welcome back Wesleyan MB&B professor Ishita Mukerji, who will be running a DNA workshop for 6th through 8th graders, as well as students from the Wesleyan chapter of the Society of Physics Students who will run a physics workshop for 4th and 5th graders.
One of our greatest needs in terms of volunteer support is to serve as hall monitors (help students find their classrooms) and workshop assistants (help the presenters in running hands-on activities with the students) during the event on March 14 from 12 to 4 pm. Additionally, helping with minimal clean-up after the workshop.
Lunch and transportation will be provided. Snow School is about 5 minutes from campus. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Gina Driscoll at gdriscoll@wesleyan.edu
