This just in from Samantha Cappelletti, Volunteer and Programs Coordinator at Riverfront Recapture, Inc.:
The warmer weather means the Riverfront is coming alive again and we are excited to get the upcoming season started. For the past six months we have been working hard on an ambitious schedule of activities, events, and programs that offer something for everyone. As a privately funded nonprofit organization, we do all of this to better our community and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. This year we expect to serve nearly a million visitors in the Riverfront Parks. It’s a wonderful feeling to be part of something that that makes a difference and it’s also a huge responsibility.
The only way we can do everything we set out to do is with your help. Volunteers are becoming a critical part of our effort to bring quality programming to the public and we need you more than ever! By volunteering with Riverfront Recapture, you not only give back to your community — you truly help to create cultural change and a better world to live in.
We would like to invite you to our spring volunteer kick-off event on Tuesday, May 21st at 5:30pm at the Riverfront Boathouse. This is a great way to learn about the many volunteer opportunities at Riverfront Recapture so you can find something that matches your interests and works with your schedule. There will also be great take-home giveaways in addition to food and beverages.
We hope you can find the time to join us at this event. If you would kindly RSVP toscappelletti@riverfront.org by Wednesday, May 16th so we can get a head count for food, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your generosity and time and I hope to see you in a few weeks.
In addition, I have been utilizing CERVIS, a volunteer software, to schedule volunteers for the upcoming season. If you are interested, please click the link below so that you can register as a Riverfront Recapture volunteer and view volunteering opportunities.
