Digital Wesleyan is hosting a 7- week workshop this spring for students to learn programming fundamentals, product design, and the language Python. The workshops will be on Saturdays from 10am-2pm starting on January 23rd and ending on March 5th. Graduates of the program can apply for exclusive paid summer internships with Wesleyan-affiliated startups.

This course will teach students computer science fundamentals in a project-based setting, while also exposing students to a variety of applications of computer science. This approach ensures students learn the fundamentals required for future internship opportunities while also learning about the various industries that CS can be applied to. The project-based nature of the course will ensure that students not only learn the concepts covered, but also learn the project management skills and gain the confidence necessary to start a programming project on their own or learn a new CS-related skill or programming language. Thus, this course will feel more like a lab than it will a lecture.

Homework will not be assigned in this course, however students will be given the opportunity to work on bonuses during the week. Students will be equipped with all the necessary software and hardware to do so.  In addition to these bonuses the instructor will hold weekly office hours so that students who are struggling, or looking for even more material, can do so.
