What is the future of public education in America? More standardization, privatization, and high-stakes testing? No. There is an alternative. Dr. Jacob Werblow, Harber Fellow of Education and Entrepreneurship, will provide insights on how the key to future of America’s educational system lies in the assets of urban youth. 

 

 

Dr. Werblow spent his early career teaching middle school in California. He then earned his PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon in 2007. He is currently teaching at Central Connecticut State University as an Assistant Professor in Department of Teacher Education. Dr. Werblow is an advisor to the CT Center for Nonviolence, a board member of CT NAME (National Association of Multicultural Educators), and a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).

 

The Harber Fellowship in Education and Entrepreneurship is an annual semester-long residencey at the Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life. The Harber Fellow teaches a course incorporating outside speakers, and delivers a public lecture.
