Apply to be the Bread Salvage or Hunger & Homelessness Coordinator

If you are interested in hunger and housing issues in the greater Middletown community, apply to serve as coordinator for the following groups! Both positions are partially paid and are official Office of Community Service staff positions.

Bread Salvage: Bread Salvage is a program that salvages bread from the Cromwell Freihofer’s outlet and delivers it to students at three Middletown elementary schools. Responsibilities of the Bread Salvage coordinator include finding volunteers/drivers, maintaining communication between the Middletown schools and Freihofer’s, and ensuring successful deliveries of bread on a weekly basis. The application closes on April 10th!

Hunger and Homelessness: The H&H co-coordinators organize both direct service opportunities and forums for discussing and addressing the root causes of hunger and housing issues in our community. Responsibilities of H&H coordinators include planning and organizing H&H events, discussions, and film screenings around campus, developing and maintaining relationships between Wesleyan and the Middletown community, and overseeing the three H&H subgroups (Food Rescue, Bread Salvage, and Habitat for Humanity).

To apply, fill out the application on OrgSync. Email jthall@wesleyan.edu (Bread Salvage) and/or ebieder@wesleyan.edu (H&H) with any questions. Check back soon for more opportunities to join the OCS team!
