E2020 Reception: Student Reflections on Winter Session Experiences

The Wesleyan Engage 2020 (E2020) initiative is a comprehensive university effort to support student learning via civic engagement and liberal arts education.

The first stage of E2020 made available course credit and funding for students who wish to engage in voter registration efforts, issue advocacy, or political campaigns at the local, state or national level.

18 Wesleyan students participated in E2020 over winter break and were stationed in states as far-flung as Georgia and Alaska, New York and Arizona. Many students chose to work with organizations advocating for particular issues, including criminal justice reform, housing justice, reproductive rights, and immigration. Others focused their efforts on voter engagement and registration.

Please join E2020 Recipients for an informal reception to hear about their experiences in the field. All are welcome, but we especially invite Wesleyan students who wish to participate in E2020 for Spring or Summer Breaks.

Wednesday, February 19, 12:00-1:20 pm, Allbritton 311
