The MidWes Faculty Fund supports faculty-led initiatives and projects that benefit PreK-12 students, adult learners, or local educators in the greater Middletown area.
The MidWes Collaborative is a partnership between the Jewett Center, the College of Education Studies, and Middletown Public Schools. The goal of the Collaborative is to leverage Wesleyan’s resources, including interdisciplinary scholarship and data science, to support innovative academic engagement and improving equity and outcomes in Middletown’s diverse mid-size public school district.
Initiatives must be related to education or youth development and must be created in collaboration with area schools or nonprofit organizations. While the initiatives may involve Wesleyan students or staff or Middletown community members, they must be led by a Wesleyan faculty member. Priority will be given to initiatives that work with the Middletown Public Schools District.
Chosen initiatives will receive a stipend of $500-$1,000 and have access to Jewett Center for Community Partnerships and College of Education Studies resources. JCCP staff can organize transportation for your initiative, and CES faculty can serve as springboards to work through ideas related to the project.
Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Funding is limited. All Wesleyan faculty are welcome to apply (tenure track, tenured, professors of the practice, visiting faculty).
